I had a good little trip with some good Folks this weekend. It all started when I left my Home near San Diego at about 3am Saturday morning, and pointed the Cruiser's front-end north. By 7am I was dodging Burros on the Indian Ranch Rd. of Panamint Valley. An hour or so later found me pulling into Panamint Springs Resort for breakfast.
While at PSR, I met up with Wild Bill and his buddy Louie. A few minutes later Noah Bricker showed his face at the breakfast table and was shortly followed by his Pops, David.
After breakfast, we loaded up our rigs and headed down the road. Our plan was to head to Cerro Gordo via the back-road from Lee Flats. While at Cerro Gordo we got to spend some time with Mike Patterson, who unfortunately passed away a week later of an ongoing illness.
After our visit to Cerro Gordo, we continued up into the Inyo Mountains. The plan was to drive to the Saline Valley Salt Tram Summit Station where we would spend the night. Once there, we poked around the area before setting up camp on the tram station. After dinner, we spent a few hours chatting before finally finding the way to our sleeping bags.
Morning soon came and after breakfast we were back on the trail. We made a few stops along the way but soon we found ourselves headed down the Swansea Road and down into Owens Valley.
Once in Owens Valley it was decided that we would all drive into Lone Pine for lunch. After lunch we drove over to the Reward Mine area to take a look around. From there I said my goodbyes and hit the road back home.
