I had planned to make a hiking trip to Beveridge Ghost Camp on this trip, but after spending 6 hours trying to get in touch of the trip leader in Olancha,CA. I decided it was time to find something else to do.

I have been wanting to go to Bodie Ghost Town for a long time now and it seems every time I get the chance to go something comes up and I have to postpone the trip. Since I now had time to kill I pointed the truck North up the 395 and never looked back.
I arrived in Bodie just after 5PM and with the park closing in an hour I decided it was best to do my exploring in the morning. I drove past Bodie and did some exploring of the surrounding Countryside.

By 8PM I was back to the 395 and instead of camping out in the outback like I normally do, I started looking for a campground. I found Virginia Creek Settlement just a few minutes from the Bodie turnoff. This place is a cool little place and I suggest everyone give them a try if in the area.

The next morning I found myself back at Bodie. This place rocks! It truly takes you back in time and makes you wonder how it would have been to live in those times. I'm already working on a return trip with the family maybe next Spring and a Winter trip when I have time.
