September 8th found us wandering around Bodie State Historic Park.  I had last visited Bodie in 2004 on a solo trip and wanted to bring the family back with me to do some exploring.
We began our day by taking a tour of the Standard Mill.  After the tour we walked around the town until our feet couldn't carry us any more.  We then drove the old toll road out to Esmeralda County then turned around and began the drive back to Lee Vining for dinner.  One high-point of the drive out was when we came across a Black Bear out in one of the meadows just west of Bodie.  The kids dug on the bear, but I would not let them keep it for a pet.
