Superstition March 22, 2003
On the way home from work Saturday I got hit with the desert bug.  The desert bug can't be stopped by any type of bug killer I have seen. The only way to get rid of the Desert bug is to pack up the truck and head east.

My dad had called earlier in the week to let me know he would be going to Phoenix raceway and was leaving the truck at home full of gas.  It can't be!  free use of his truck and gas(you know its that stuff that costs almost as much as gold nowadays)

Gave Momma a call to see if my little bro-bro wanted to take out the Raptor. (like he would say no)  Then for the hard part.  I had to call my wife and tell her I was taking our boys out to the desert for the night(Austin has never been camping before).  She said ok.  It was not till later that night that she realized I was not kidding and she began voicing her concerns. Sorry baby doll we are gone.

Hit the road by 8:30PM.  After dinner and a stop for snacks we hit superstition at 10:30.  Set up the tent(first time in over 6 years that I have slept in a tent) and went to sleep.
Got up with the sun and unloaded the truck.  Rode and played on the dunes for about three hours and loaded it all back up and headed back home.
The desert bug may stay away for the next week or two
